Neptunus scores at Hockey Champions Trophy event

Neptunus has provided the temporary infrastructure for the Hockey Champions Trophy tournament at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

The event, staged over 17 days, consisted of men’s and women’s competitions involving the world’s leading teams.

The Men’s Hero Champions Trophy from June 10-17 involved six nations – Great Britain, Belgium, Australia, Korea, India and Germany – competing for the title with Australia beating India in the final.  The Women’s Hockey Champions Trophy from June 18-26 was contested by Great Britain, Australia, Argentina, The Netherlands, New Zealand and the USA.  Argentina beat The Netherlands in the final taking the trophy for a record seventh time.

Neptunus’ technicians took just four days to build 18 structures that formed a hospitality, retail and catering village covering an area of 1,500 square metres for the tens of thousands of spectators.

Neptunus supplied a range of Alu Halls, Mercury and Pluto structures which also provided space for reception, ticketing areas and a bespoke exhibition facility. To protect the all-important landscape of the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, all of the structures were self-weighted with concrete floors featuring entrance ramps, staircases and carpeting.

Neptunus was appointed by global events production specialists ICON World on behalf of England Hockey.
