Lawn Tennis Association awards 5–year contract to Neptunus

Fever-Tree Championships hospitality facilities

Following a competitive tender process, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has awarded five-year contracts to Arena and Neptunus for the Fever-Tree Championships, the prestigious ATP 500 grass court tennis tournament staged at The Queen’s Club each June.

Between 2020 and 2024, Arena will install the 10,000 temporary seats needed to accommodate ticket-holders around Centre Court and Court 1, and Neptunus will build their state-of-the-art Evolution II temporary structure to house 3,450 square metres of ticket-holder and hospitality facilities.
“We are delighted to be working with both Arena and Neptunus in building the infrastructure for the Fever-Tree Championships, which was voted ATP-500 Tournament of the Year by the players recently and is shortlisted for Event of the Year in the upcoming BT Sport industry Awards,” said Tournament Director Stephen Farrow, who is also the LTA’s Director of International Events and Professional Game.

“Most people visiting the tournament don’t realise that, apart from the historic Queen’s Club Clubhouse, all of the infrastructure at the Fever-Tree Championships is temporarily built and then removed over a ten week period every year – an immensely complex and challenging undertaking.

“Arena has been a big part of the success of this event for many years and we look forward to continuing that relationship in the years to come. Neptunus are new partners for us, and we were impressed with their vision and plan for a two-storey hospitality area that will have fantastic views over our practice courts. We believe that, from 2020, our ticket-holders and hospitality guests are going to love the experience of attending the Fever-Tree Championships more than ever.”

Martin Clark, Senior Project Director, Arena, said: “It’s a privilege to continue our involvement with the LTA. We have thoroughly enjoyed supporting the delivery of such an award-winning event over the last 30 years and from 2020 look forward to a further five years of delivering temporary seating to provide an awesome customer experience at a truly great sporting event.”

April Trasler, Managing Director, Neptunus, said: “The Evolution has become the structure of choice for major international conferences and summits for prestigious organisations including the United Nations and NATO. We are absolutely delighted to secure a contract with the LTA where our unrivalled technology will be experienced by guests at one of the world’s top tennis championships – and provide us with a fantastic showcase to demonstrate the quality of our dynamic products.”

The Fever-Tree Championships is owned and organised by the LTA and features most of the best male tennis players in the world. The Roll of Honour includes Rod Laver, John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Boris Becker, Pete Sampras, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray.

So far, five-time champion Andy Murray, British No.1 Kyle Edmund, defending champion Marin Cilic, Nick Kyrgios and exciting young Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who reached the recent Australian Open semifinals, have signed up to play.

The 2019 edition of the Fever-Tree Championships will take place 17th-23rd June, broadcast live throughout by the BBC and Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

Tickets are now available, starting from £50.
