We are searching for:
Health and Safety Advisor
Based from our UK Head Office in Northampton, the role will require travel to work sites within the UK as required.
Summary
The H&S Advisor will primarily support the SHEQ Manager in the management of H&S within the business. You will work with project and operational teams to advise, monitor and drive to improve H&S performance.
You will provide general H&S advice and support specific to the business needs, continuously advising on safe systems of work, whilst promoting H&S good practice and supporting managers and employees with training and coaching sessions, including toolbox talks and H&S inductions. Much of your time will be field based coaching and supporting our teams to develop and improve on safe systems of work.
Experience & Qualifications

NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent

Level 3 AET/PTLLs qualification – preferred but not essential.

Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role ideally gained from within the Event industry.

Excellent communication skills
H&S Duties

Provide professional health and safety information, advice and guidance on all health and safety matters to all staff and contractors.

Manage, maintain and improve safety procedures in the business.

Work proactively in the development of Risk Assessments with department teams.

Update safe systems of work outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards.

Assist in reviewing Risk Assessments provided by contractor and other external bodies.

Identify opportunities to reduce risk and propose changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation

Undertake regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being implemented. On major projects you will be required to provide daily [presence to support the site management team.

Act as the accident reporting officer for the business and undertake accident and incident investigations as directed by the SHEQ Manager.

Routine H&S equipment audits, monitoring and checks.

Monthly audits of safety equipment and plant registers ensuring all inspections / servicing etc. are up to date / completed.

Produce monthly reports, newsletters and tool box talks. Compile monthly accident / incident statistics

Lead in-house training with managers and employees on health and safety issues and risks.

Being up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the industry.
