Neptunus named Best Temporary Structure Company at Festival Supplier Awards

Neptunus has won the award for Best Temporary Structure Company at the 2017 Festival Supplier Awards.

Neptunus received the accolade for the state-of-the-art performance pavilion it created for The National Eisteddfod of Wales last year. It was the first time Neptunus had provided the infrastructure to the event which is acknowledged as one of the world’s greatest cultural festivals.

Neptunus was appointed as official structure supplier to the internationally famous festival of music, literature and performance and was specifically challenged by the organisers to create a dynamic new facility for the main performance theatre with improved acoustics for the thousands of performers and enhanced viewing for the audiences.

Neptunus created an ultra-modern studio-style pavilion which formed the centre-piece of the showground. Announcing Neptunus as winners of the Best Temporary Structure category, Festival Supplier Awards guests were told that Judges “praised this unique structure, saying it provided an innovative solution for a high-profile event that improved the environment for attendees and performers, whilst also raising the quality of production for the broadcasting element”.

Managing Director April Trasler collected the award on behalf of Neptunus and was joined on staged by Head of Operations Tim Hall, Project Director Ben Keast, Project Manager Richard Treml and Huw Aled Jones, Head of Technical Operations for the National Eisteddfod of Wales.

April Trasler said: “We are delighted to have won this national award. Historically the performance theatre had been staged within a fabric ‘big-top’-style tent provided by their previous suppliers. However, we created a completely new environment within our award-winning Evolution II range that was far more robust with excellent acoustics and lighting, and more akin to a permanent building.

“Winning this prestigious Festival Supplier Award is a tremendous endorsement for a very successful project.”

Huw Aled Jones said: “Neptunus helped us reach our goal of moving from a stage in a tent to a concert hall in a field. Competitors, performers and the public were very happy. Llongyfarchiadau! (congratulations)”
