Bumper crop of flower shows for Neptunus in 2013

Temporary structures specialist Neptunus has been awarded a three-year deal with the Royal Horticultural Society to supply the Chelsea Flower Show with an additional 1,950 sq m of temporary space. At the same time Neptunus has also been awarded a further three-year contract for structures at Hampton Court Flower Show including a new additional structure.

Attended by 157,000 each year, the Chelsea Flower Show is the most famous and prestigious horticultural event in the UK. It is the flower show most associated with the Royal family, who attend the opening day every year. Held in the grounds of the Chelsea Hospital, visitors to the event can enjoy modern, inventive gardens, new plants, show gardens, vertical allotments, ingenious new products as well as new food courts and restaurants.

Taking place from 21st May – 25th May 2013, Neptunus will be providing the Chelsea Flower Show with over 1,200 sq m of additional space for the prestigious Hospitality Village operated by Fortnum & Mason and DO & CO. This will consist of two glazed front Alure Globe structures 12m x 50m with shade canopies and decking walkways, and further ancillary structures for the entrance areas, garden bars and kitchens.

The Alure Globe is equipped with a cassette floor, high quality entrance, emergency exit doors and integrated rain guttering systems. Available in unlimited lengths, with a durable aluminium frame, 4m high wall panels and full vision glazed panels; the Alure Globe has an innovative curved roof and a distinctive appearance with which to create an impression of quality and luxury.

The hospitality suite has the features and appearance of a permanent structure and the interior is in keeping with luxury brands sponsoring the building, Fortnum & Mason and DO & CO. Visitors to the hospitality area will be able to look out at the exquisitely designed flower displays whilst sipping champagne in beautiful surroundings.
Also for the first time at Chelsea, Neptunus will supply 750 sq m of Alu Halls for the Exhibitors’ Restaurant complex and various additional structures for the organisers, catering and essential services. The complex offers everything from three-course meals to sandwiches and fish and chips.

Neptunus’ Alu Hall is well suited to events like the Chelsea Flower Show. As a robust, multipurpose, clear span structure, available in a multitude of widths, the Alu Hall provides a modern and versatile space to contain all the facilities.

“I am delighted to be working with Neptunus at The Chelsea Flower Show,” comments Caroline Hills, Head of Shows Operations, The Royal Horticultural Society. “Neptunus have given us exceptional service at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show over the years and it is a natural move to bring their expertise, attention to detail and quality of finish to Chelsea.”

Further to the great work Neptunus has done at the Hampton Court Flower Show, the temporary structures specialist has been awarded a further three-year contract to provide additional space for the Allium Restaurant, picnic structures and press facilities as previous. As an addition to the deal, Neptunus will also provide structures for the Champagne & Seafood Restaurant and Palace Tea Rooms.
