In March 2009, the Dutch supermarket chain Jan Linders opened a new store in Venray, the Netherlands. In anticipation of new construction in a couple of years, Jan Linders decided to house the supermarket in a semi-permanent structure from Neptunus that could be disassembled when no longer needed. The structure meets all of the requirements that one expects of a modern supermarket, of course. The semi-permanent, modular structure is the most advanced of its kind and is almost indistinguishable in terms of appearance and specifications from permanent buildings.
The supermarket, which can be completely disassembled when no longer required, has a surface area of no less than 1,650 m2, and was built with a concrete floor. All possible services and conveniences are available, so clients do not have the feeling that they are shopping in a temporary building. On the contrary, the temporary supermarket in Venray is one of the largest and best designed of the Jan Linders stores. The store is built and set up according to the newest generation shops and this is also being developed further in other stores in the chain.
