Spectacular opening of the Euromax Terminal Rotterdam

Together with the Toine Dorpmans Group, Neptunus recently handled the spectacular opening of the ECT Euromax Terminal in Rotterdam. For this occasion, a fully transparent version of the Ocean was created, which gave a stunning effect. For the opening party that took place on 5 September, an Ocean measuring no less than 30x55 metres was put up. This spectacular new tent design by Neptunus was first presented last spring, and for this special occasion, a fully transparent version completely constructed with glass wall panels and a transparent canvas roof. Surrounded by high cranes and with cargo ships in the background, the 1,500 leading guests were welcomed literally 'in’ the terminal. Special about the Ocean are the waving membrane roof and the internal height, which increases towards the middle to no less than 12 metres. In addition, Neptunus provided three stylish Alure pavilions, which were used as additional reception area and as catering area. The Euromax Terminal is one of the most advanced container transfer terminals in the world and which will be able to handle the largest ocean-going vessels, thanks to its location next to the new Maasvlakte 2 that will be created. The terminal has a capacity of a staggering 5 million TEU.
