Neptunus provides venue for Sunday Times 100 Best Companies Event

Temporary structures specialist, Neptunus has supplied Pro-Ex, organisers of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies lists’, with a venue for its ‘Art of Engagement’ interactive event in Milton Keynes.

Best Companies was formed in 2000 with the purpose of making the world a better workplace and each year, together with The Sunday Times, it celebrates the best small, mid-size and big workplaces in the UK by publishing a series of prestigious top 100 lists based on a nationwide survey of employees. To coincide with its 10th anniversary, Best Companies has launched the ‘Art of Engagement’ event to introduce organisations to ‘Workplace Engagement’ and increase ‘Emotional Engagement’ in the workplace.

For the first event of its kind, Best Companies wanted the four month interactive experience set in a purpose built environment designed to encourage leaders and managers to explore their own perceptions of workplace engagement and understand how to best engage their workforce. With no suitable permanent building available for such an extraordinary event, Neptunus was selected to supply a 3,600 sq m temporary Evolution structure. A team of Neptunus experts took just 12 days to fully install the Evolution at the Milton Keynes Bowl, complete with a glazed front and internal partition walls to section off different interactive zones, including personal growth and wellbeing areas.

In keeping with Neptunus’ sustainable approach, the structure will remain standing for continued use over a period of two years. Following the Best Companies event, the structure will transfer to Quantum Leap Events, specialists in unusual and unforgettable Summer Balls and Christmas parties. The structure will be transformed into a blank canvas venue providing a flexible space to cater for a wide range of events. In similar style to Quantum Leap’s Battersea Evolution venue in London, the aptly named MK Evolution will offer a myriad of possibilities for event and production companies, before being reverted back for the second instalment of the ‘Art of Engagement’ event in March 2011.

Founder and CEO of Pro-Ex, Jonathan Austin, comments: “The flexibility of the Neptunus Evolution allows both ourselves and Quantum Leap to fulfil our event objectives without either company having to compromise on quality.“ Part of Neptunus’ semi-permanent range, the Evolution is the most technologically advanced temporary structure available in today’s market. Based on a highly technical and innovative design with durable components, the Evolution is ideal for long-term use. The building comes as standard with integrated, rigid wall panels and an aluminium space-frame roof, which is assembled at ground level and lifted in a single movement with the use of hydraulics, making the structure easy to assemble and fully relocatable.
