Neptunus provides temporary venue for Masterpiece fair

Temporary structures specialist, Neptunus has supplied organisers of Masterpiece London 2010 - a unique showcase for the most covetable objects in the world - with over 11,000 sq m of temporary space to host the international exhibition in Chelsea.

Taking place between 23-29 June at the former Chelsea Barracks site, the Masterpiece Fair provides a platform for international dealers to showcase fine and decorative art, wine, classic cars, jewellery and luxury goods. Established this year as a replacement for the Grosvenor House Art & Antiques Fair, which closed last year after its 75th anniversary, the organisers required an elegant and sophisticated exhibition space to set the standard for subsequent Masterpiece events.
Neptunus supplied several structures from its temporary solutions range which were connected together to form separate areas of the venue all under one roof, including the exhibition hall, a restaurant, and kitchen facilities.

For the main exhibition hall, Neptunus supplied and connected together two of its Evolution structures accounting for almost 10,000 sq m of the venue. The most technically advanced temporary structure available in today’s market, the Neptunus Evolution offers qualities normally associated with a permanent building. The innovatively designed yet robust semi-permanent structure is available in unlimited lengths, which was ideal for this international exhibition. 

The restaurant was located in a stylish Alure structure, while a combination of two durable and flexible Apollo structures and a clear span and robust Alu Hall were used to accommodate the kitchens. With the former British Army barracks site having been left derelict for some time, the ground was uneven with a height difference of 1.5m in some areas. A team of Neptunus specialists was able to securely fix scaffolding to the ground, forming a level base on which some structures were installed and ensuring the venue was all on one level. Available in countless styles, dimensions and combinations, Neptunus can provide event structures from simple pergolas to three storey penthouses, complete with balconies. Neptunus has provided structures for high profile events including London Fashion Week, Wimbledon and regularly provides solutions to blue-chip companies including Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Philips and Volkswagen.
